France will host the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup and the Allianz Riviera in Nice will be one of the stadiums of the competition.
This coming Monday October 2nd in Villa Massena, the trophy will be on display for Nice residents as part of a nationwide tour of hosting cities, in the presence of Christian Estrosi, David Trezeguet, Fatma Samoura (Secretary General of FIFA), Brigitte Henriques (Acting Vice-Chairperson of the FFF), Eric Borghini (Chairman of the Mediterranean Football League) & Erwann Le Prevost (Director of the local Organizing Committee).
It is expected that with France hosting the 2019 World Cup, women’s football will reach a new level in exposure across the nation. With the benefit of its international reputation, its stadium of ideal proportions for this kind of event and its famed welcoming tradition, Nice became the most popular city of the Euro 2016. The City of Nice, an undeniable asset in hosting this world cup, is thus looking forward to meeting the challenge of the 2019 Women’s World Cup.
